Earl Acquires Moon Engineering Company, Inc

Earl Industries added a key asset to its ship repair division through the purchase of Moon Engineering Company, Inc. located on Pinners Point on the main branch of the Elizabeth River in Portsmouth, Virginia. The facility encompasses over sixty acres of waterfront property with two modern, fully serviced, U.S. Navy-certified, 799-foot long piers and over 50,000 square feet of environmentally controlled industrial shops and storage areas. Additionally, the facility includes several modern administrative buildings to house corporate, subcontractor, and Government personnel. The addition of Moon Engineering to the Earl Industries corporate family, its facilities and its motivated workforce, enhances and completes the companys capabilities to be a major player in the U.S. Navys Multi-Ship/Multi-Option ship maintenance contracting strategy.
